Former mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) M. Manzur Alam on Sunday handed over a three storied building to the 3 families in Chattogram on the occasion of 52 years of independence.
M. Manzur Alam, also founder of the Alhaj Hosna Ara Manzur Welfare Trust, handed over the homes to three families of late Nazir Ahmed's son Md Yusuf, Md Abdul Malek and daughter Shireen Akhtar.
The project worth Tk 32 lakh was implemented under the Ashrayan project funded by Alhaj Hosna Ara Manzur Welfare Trust to preserve the ancestral memory of former Mayor M Manzur Alam.
The building has 2 bed rooms with a kitchen, drawing room and bath room for each family.
“If wealthy peoples of the
society follow the dream of Bangabandhu and implement the shelter projects of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the homeless and poor people will be benefited,” Alhaj M Manzur Alam said this while inaugurating the new homes.
Former Ward Councillor Md. Sirajul Islam, brave freedom fighter Abdul Hadi, Sagir Ahmed and Badsha Alam were present there among others.
