Three-day leadership development training begins in Natore

A three-day leadership development training workshop for Human Rights Defenders (HRD) began in Natore on Friday. 

Organised by the Institute for Environment and Development (IED), Shariful Islam Ramzan, Chairman of Natore Sadar Upazila Parishad, inaugurated the event as the chief guest. It was attended, among others, by Nabiur Rahman Piplu, President of Natore United Press Club, Harendranath Singh, IP Coordinator of IED, Pavel Partho, biodiversity researcher, Mostafizur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Cooperative Officer, Kalidas Roy, IP Fellow, Jahanara Beauty, Executive Director of NYDA and Pradeep Lakra, President of the Natore district unit of the National Tribal Council. 

The speakers said that IED is working to improve the financial situation of indigenous unemployed youth by developing their skills through first-hand training with its own funds. 

They assured to provide various types of training including JICA, sewing machines, plumbing and bank loans to the backward communities through the Upazila Parishad and the Cooperatives Department. They also praised IED for doing this kind of unprecedented work.
