A three-day fruit fair began on the premises of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) here on Monday.Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of the district organised fruit fair.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Abu Naser Beg inaugurated the fruit fair as the chief guest with Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Department Md. Dr Md Yasin Ali in the chair.
Additional Deputy Directors of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Bishnupad Saha and Prakash Chandra Sarkar and Sadar upazila agriculture officer Md Humayun Kabir, among others, were present.
Various local and advanced varieties of fruits including jackfruit, banana, coconut, mango, papaya, lemon, malta, summer melon and chalta were exhibited at the stalls.
Later, the DC distributed mango tree saplings among 30 fruit growers.This fair will continue till July 17.
