Bangladesh registered three more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Tuesday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,034 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 295 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,580,005, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The current positivity rate stands 1.29 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.15 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.
Among the deceased, two were male and one was female. Of the deceased, one was from Dhaka, one from Chattogram and one from Rajshahi division.
A total of 22,870 samples were tested across the country till 8am Tuesday. Some 247 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,544,664 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.76 percent.
As of Tuesday, 5,331,805 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 271,213,566 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
