Three construction workers were electrocuted while working on a building in Kichmat Karimpur of Ward No. 7 of Begamganj Choumuhani Municipality of Noakhali.
They were rescued and brought to Begumganj 50-bed Upazila Health Complex at around 2:30 pm on Thursday and the doctor on duty pronounced them dead.
The deceased are, Siraj's son Riaz (28) from Vidhirpur Village of Noakhali Sadar Upazila in Ashwadia Union, Shakil (20) son of Jalal Majumdar of North Wafda village and Kamrul Hasan (30) of Chandina Upazila of Comilla district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Model Police Station Anwarul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the workers were electrocuted around 1.30 pm while conducting soil test for the purpose of constructing a building in Ward No. 7 of Choumuhani Municipality.
Locals rescued them and first took them to a private hospital in Chaumuhani, then from there they were taken to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared all three dead.
After receiving the news, Police visited the spot.
The legal action will be taken based on the complaint in this incident.
