Three arrested in Jhenaidh

The policemen in Jhenaidah had arrested three killing accused for their alleged involvement in killing Abailpur union Awami League Legal Aid Affairs Secretary also member of local union parishad Ripon. 

They were arrested from Kalikapur area in Jhenaidah Town on Monday night when they were hiding there to avoid police arrest. 

The arrested were identified as Asraful Islam Tebi, son of Taijal Biswas, Jumarat Biswas, son of Tuku Biswas and Nayeb Ali, son of Yakub Sheikh of village Mingram in Shailkupa upazila. 

Earlier the high court had ordered them to appear in the lower court on December 4. 

But they had submitted a fake bail order to Shailkupa thana instead appearing in the lower court. The matter was detected by the court immediately after the incident. Since then the police was hunting six of the accused. 27 accused in the murder case had earlier granted bail from Jhenaidah district and session judges on December 4 last. 

When the three were arrested, another three managed to flee sensing police drives. 

Jhenaidah detective branch (DB) police Officer In Charge Jewel Islam said, Abailpur union Awami League legal assistance affairs secretary also member of local union parishad Ripon was beaten and chopped to death by the supporters of local UP chairman Helal Uddin Biswas and his men at about 10 pm of October 16 when he along with his accomplices were returning home on motorbike. 

The miscreants stopped them at Mingram turning on Abaipur-Sripur road. He was taken to Jhenaidah 250-bed general hospital and succumbs to his injuries. 

Two another AL men sustained severe injuries and referred to Dhaka medical college hospital. 

Later Ahsanul Kabir, a younger brother of the deceased had filed a murder case against a number of killers mentioning 32 accused. Later 27 of the accused were granted bail from the high court.
