Leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party held a rally at Jamalpur on Tuesday after the victory of anti-discriminatory student movement and the resignation of Awami League government.
The meeting was arranged by Jamalpur district BNP after 17 years in front of the district BNP office with the participation of thousands of BNP leaders and activists.
Vice-president of district BNP Advocate Md Fazlul Haque presided over the meeting. Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun, general secretary of district BNP and co-organizing secretary of Mymensingh divisional executive committee, delivered the speech as the chief guest at the meeting.
Senior joint general secretary of district BNP Shahidul Islam Khan, organizing secretary Lokman Ahmed Khan Loton, joint general secretary Khandakar Asaduzzaman Rumel, general secretary of Sadar Upazila BNP Ruhul Amin Milon, general secretary of municipality BNP Shah Md Abdullah Al Masud, president of district Jatiotabadi Shramik Dal Sheikh Md Abdus Sobahan and others spoke in the meeting.
Organizing secretary of district BNP Shafiqul Islam Khan Sojib moderated the meeting. Leaders and activists of all level of district BNP, district Jubodal, district Shramik Dal, district Swecchasebak Dal and affiliated organizations were present at that time.
The chief guest said that all the leaders and activists need to stay aware so that no unwanted incident can occur anywhere even though Awami League government has resigned. Safety has to be ensured in every village through the BNP leaders and activists. He said BNP does not believe in the politics of looting. Preparation needs to be taken for fair election in future with the cooperation of everyone.
Chief Guest Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun administered oath to the leaders and activists of BNP at the end of the meeting.
