The much-anticipated trailer of the biopic on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life titled 'Mujib - The Making of a Nation', a joint venture between Bangladesh and India directed by the acclaimed Indian director Shyam Benegal, was premiered at the Indian pavilion premiered on the third day May 19 of the 75th edition of the world-famous Cannes Film Festival's Marche du Film section in the south of France.
Since the release of the trailer, there has been a lot of criticism about the film netizens are criticising the trailer especially for the unconvincing CGI in certain sections, Arifin Shuvoo's immature performance as Bangabandhu, negative comments seem to have ruined Facebook.
Regarding the issue Superstar Arifin Shuvoo, who played the role of Bangabandhu in the film has finally respond by revealing that, “this is not the official trailer of the biopic, this trailer has been made with only 13 days in hand, so that it can be launched in the Cannes Film Festival. The VFX scenes of the trailer were made within 10 days, hence it has some flaws in it. The official trailer of the will be released in a few days”.
About the criticism of the trailer on social media, he said, “The post-production work of the film is still going on. In fact, we can say that the film is still under-cooked. We can taste the real flavour of the film after the completion of the post-production work. it will take another two months to complete the post-production work. In the meantime, we will prepare for the release of the official trailer. The official trailer will not have these errors, even the dubbing problems will be fixed,” he further added.
Expressing his feelings about the release of the trailer, Shuvo said, 'Many locals and foreigners were present on the day of the release of the trailer. People at Cannes were stunned after knowing certain details about Bangabandhu and expressed enthusiasm to know more about the him’.
Apart from Arifin Shuvoo, the film also features Nusraat Faria Mazhar who will play the role of Bangabandhu's daughter and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Nusrat Imroz Tisha as Fazilatun Nesa Mujib, eminent actress Dilara Jaman will play the role of Bangbandhu's mother Sahera Khatun, actor Khairul Alam Sabuj will act as Bangabandhu's father Sheikh Lutfor Rahman, Shahidul Alam Sachchu as Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, Ferdous Ahmed as Tajuddin Ahmed, Tauquir Ahmed as Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, Tushar Khan as Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah, Fazlur Rahman Babu as Khandakar Moshtaq Ahmed and Misha Sawdagor as Aiyub Khan, among others.
