A book of poems titled 'Saroj' written by Akhbar Hossain, a retired professor of Ishwardi Government College was unveiled in the upazila of Pabna on Thursday evening.
Lawyer Mostafizur Rahman Kamal, President of Ishwardi Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad and Professor (Retd.) Abul Kalam Azad of Pakshi Railway College officially unveiled the book as guests.
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was organised at the office of Ishwardi Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad. President of the Parishad Mostafizur Rahman Kamal presided over the discussion while Prof. Abul Kalam Azad, Prof. (Retd.) Uday Nath Lahiri, Bir Muktijoddha Siraj Uddin Biswas and others were present at the discussion.
This is the third book of poetry by the poet Akhtar Hossain after publising two other books titled 'Anantar' and 'Brishti Jokhon Baul'.
Professor Abul Kalam Azad, the chief guest, while discussing the poems in the book 'Saroj', said that the poetry of the poet is of fine quality.
His poetry uses metaphorical words just as it has a touch of rhythm. As a result, the poems have become modern and timely.
Lawyer Mostafizur Rahman Kamal said that the anti-culture of the society should be stopped through patronage of literature and culture. He said his poetry has become richer than ever. He hoped that the poet would write more heartfelt poems in future.
