Miscreants at a village under Noannui union in Noakhali Sadar upazila decamped with valuables by making seven inmates of the house unconscious on Monday night.
The seven unconscious family members of the house, including a pregnant woman and a minor child have been admitted to Noakhali General hospital on Tuesday.
The hospitalised family members have been identified as Ibrahim, Chowdhury Mia, Shilpi, Hajera, Mamun, Bipasha and minor child Ayman. Child Ayman has been referred to Dhaka as his condition stated to be critical.
One member of the family who regained consciousness informed, after taking supper all family members went to sleep on Monday night but none of them could rise in the morning. The neighbours sensing their condition, rescued them from the house and admitted them to Noakhali General Hospital. Condition of pregnant Shilpi and child Ayman is stated to be critical of them Ayman has been referred to Dhaka for improved treatment.
Nabir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sudharam Model police station informed, it was not possible to detect who was behind the incident. Action will be taken against the responsible person/s after the family members regain consciousness.
