The thieves are still active in Dinajpur and some other parts of the country in the midst of widespread fear due to coronavirus and countrywide lockdown. A computer showroom called Classic Computer in Dinajpur’s Modernmor area was robbed yesterday.
The robbers broke the roof of the computer showroom in order to get inside. However, police are questioning whether the robbery took place yesterday. The theft is believed to have happened due to the Dinajpur lockdown.
“I had wanted to take the computer items home for 2/3 days during this lockdown,” said Sahedur Rahman Sayed, owner of the computer showroom. “But it's too late. I entered the showroom thinking of taking computer accessories home this Friday morning. When I entered, I saw various computer accessories including laptop, router, pendrive, hard disk, mother board, processor, ram and printer have been stolen.”
He claims that about 5 lakh taka computer items have been stolen. Sayed said the type of theft showed that it was stolen yesterday. When Dinajpur Kotwali police were informed the incident, they immediately arrived and asked to do a GD with a list of goods.
The robbery during Dinajpur lockdown is causing panic among traders. Businessmen have sought intervention of the law enforcement forces of Dinajpur to protect their businesses and property.
