In a bid to honor the upcoming 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, the Russian House in Dhaka hosted the "Victory Dictation" event on April 26, 2024. This event aimed to engage the public in learning about the crucial moments of history and enhance their understanding of the Great Patriotic War. Mr. Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, extended a warm welcome, emphasizing the significance of understanding this pivotal period in history. He highlighted the event's purpose to increase historical literacy among all age groups.
The dictation attracted a diverse group of participants, including schoolchildren, students, and journalists, totaling 40 individuals. The format of the dictation resembled a test, with participants facing 25 questions to be answered within 45 minutes.
Upon completion, participants were acknowledged for their efforts with memorial certificates, symbolizing their contribution to commemorating the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event not only served as a platform for gaining historical knowledge but also as a means to unite the community in remembering the sacrifices and victories of the past. Through such initiatives, the Russian House in Dhaka hopes to foster a deeper appreciation for history and inspire future generations to learn from the lessons of the past
