Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative has approved 'Senua' as the 22nd Union Parishad under Thakurgaon sadar upazila.
LGED Ministry's approval of the new union was given through a letter issued on November-5, informed Abdullah Al Mamun, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Thakurgaon on Sunday evening.
He further informed the number-4 Borogaon union has been divided through a river increasing sufferings of the people living across the river. On the face of demand of local people, local Member of Parliament sent a proposal to turn Senua a Union Parishad to the high ups of the government. At last, a letter signed by Deputy Secretary of LGED Iftekhar Ahmmad Chowdhury approved Senua as the 22nd union of Thakugaon sadar upazila.
UNO of Thakurgaon further mentioned, Deputy Commissioner of Thakurgaon Dr. KMKamruzzaman Selim will soon formally declare Senua as the 22nd Union of Thakurgaon sadar upazila.
