A schoolboy was killed as a Banana tree fell on him at Molani Para village in Auliapur union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Tawhid (8), a class- III student of a local kindergarten and son of Mostafa Kamal of the village.
Tawhid’s father Mostafa Kamal said, "On Monday afternoon, while Tawhid and other children were playing in my own uncle's banana orchard, a banana tree suddenly fell on him. He later died on the way to the hospital.”
Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station SI (unarmed) Hashem Ali said, "We went to the spot and collected all the information from the eye witnesses about the death of the child. An unnatural death case has been filed in this regard.”
