People of all walks of life, including freedom fighters and government officials, on Friday paid homage to the martyrs of Terosree village, who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War in 1971.
On November 22 in 1971, the Pakistani Army in collaboration with the local Al-badr and Razakars killed 43 villagers of Terosree, including the then Zemindar Siddheshwari Roy Prosad Chowdhury and Principal Atiar Rahman. They also burnt to death and burnt to ashes all the houses of the village and 70 shops of Terosree Bazar.
Marking the day, deferent programmes were held on the Shaheed Memorial premises at Terosree under Ghior upazila in Manikganj. The programmes include memorial meeting, mourning procession, placing flower and hoisting National Flag.
Manikganj district administration, district freedom fighters command council and people of all walks of life placed floral wreaths at the memorial of the martyrs.
President of the Memorial Committee Abdul Hakim Master presided over the memorial meeting; where Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Manikganj SM Ferdous attended as the chief guest.

In his speech, SM Ferdous said the people should come forward to collect and protect the real history of Liberation War. He also urged the students to become infused with a new life in perception of Liberation War.
