Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Jhenaidah SM Rafiqul Islam said there is no alternative to technical and vocational education before the young generation as the whole world needs only skill and trained persons.
Abide achieving knowledge in technology, they should also know good English to compete with other technically sound countries for their survival.
If anyone gather technical knowledge will not march towards dowry, child marriage, divorce, multi-marriage, drug, militancy or similar activities anyway as he or she will be built as good citizens.
Presided over by principal of Jhenaidah polytechnic institute Sazed Ur Rahman, DC SM Rafiqul Islam was speaking as chief guest in the prize giving ceremony at Jhenaidah government polytechnic institute marking technical and vocational education week concluding ceremony on Saturday noon.
Additional deputy commissioner (ADC, general) Rathindra Nath Roy, executive magistrate Laila Yasmeen and academic in-charge of the institute Mahbubul Islam attended as special guests.
The chief guest said when the whole world is progressing faster with new technology every day, we should not stay backward anymore. With the utmost initiatives of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, our children should participate in any challenge applying the available resources to witness the country a smart one as desired by the democratic government.
Later the chief guest had distributed prizes among the winners demonstrated 15 innovative ideas including Smart Agro Drone, E-Voting, examination sheet preparation, robot richo, automatic security system of house, smart house, waste management and resources recovery in modern city and non-electrical sewage water recycling system. A total of 15 stalls were accommodated in the fair held at the college ground.
