The head council of Bangladesh Secondary Education Foundation, Cox’s Bazar unit stated 5-point demands including 100% festival allowance and nationalization. Speakers at the rally held in front of Cox's Bazar Press Club on Friday said that the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was to eliminate all inequalities in the education sector in phases. But as Bangladesh lost its guardian as a result of the assassination of the losers of '71 in Bangabandhu, so did the teachers lose their dreams.
Speakers stated that the demands are to provide 100% festival allowance and house rent for the upcoming Eid, to give 6th grade to the heads of private secondary educational institutions like the headmasters of government schools and 8th grade to the assistant principals, facilities of voluntary transfer and appointment of heads and assistant heads of institutions within the NTRC and nationalization of secondary education and elimination of inequality in education. The teachers' meeting was presided over by Cox's Bazar District Branch President of Secondary Education Institution Head Cox's Bazar Ramu Jarailtali High School Headmaster Hossainul Islam Matbar. Also speaking on the occasion were Nurul Abshar, Co-Organizing Secretary and Headmaster of Sahityika High School, Co-President of Central Board of Secondary Education, Cox's Bazar. The headmaster of Jannat, Ramu Joarianala High School is also Mohammad Hossain, General Secretary of Ramu Upazila Head of Secondary Education Institution Pradhan Parishad, Headmaster of Pekua Shilkhali High School and President of Pekua Upazila Secondary Education Institution Pradhan Parishad Mohammad Ibrahim. It was attended by more than one and a half hundred teachers from 9 upazilas of the district.
