Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has decided to sell soybean oil at Tk 110 per liter from May 16. These soybean oils will be sold on TCB trucks till May 30. Lentils, sugar and gram will be mixed with soybean oil.
TCB said this in a press release on Wednesday.
The statement said that TCB will sell products to the low-income people at affordable and subsidized prices to keep the prices of daily necessities affordable in the market. Therefore, the sale activities will continue till May 16-30 through open trucks.
Each truck will sell lentils at Tk 65 per kg, sugar at Tk 55 per kg and gram at Tk 65 per kg.
It is learned that some unsold gram flour remains in Ramadan. Dealers will also be allotted these lentils. However, the gram will be sold to the buyers who want to buy gram.
Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Senior Executive (Head of Office) of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh Chattogram Regional Office, said that soybean oil will be sold at TCB's Truck sell at Tk 110 per liter from next 16th May. Besides, lentils, sugar and gram will also be sold.
However, even if the date is fixed, the quantity of the product will be sold in a few days.
TCB's product sales have been closed since April 24 before Eid. Last April, a consumer was able to buy a maximum of two kg of sugar at Tk 55 per kg, a maximum of 2 liters of soybean oil at Tk 110 and 2-5 kg of onion at Tk 30 per kg from a TCB truck. The price of lentil pulses was Tk 65 per kg.
