The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) began selling of essential commodities at subsidized rate in 14 districts of Khulna region at the beginning of the holy Ramzan.
TCB started selling sugar, edible (Soyabin) oil, grams, pulse and dates some days ahead of Ramadan at lower price compared to retail markets,” said Robiul Morshed, chief of TCB Khulna regional office.
He said, adequate quantities of all commodities already been stocked in the local warehouse and TCB operation will continue till the June 2.
The fixed rate of TCB commodities are-sugar per kg 47 taka,dates per kg 135 taka, pulse per kg 44 taka, grams per kg 60 taka and soyabin oil per litre 85 taka.Per day sugar 500 kgs,pulse 300 kgs, soyabin oil 492 litres, grams 400 kgs sanctioned to sell for mobile truck each dealer.Beside 1000 kgs sugar, 1000 kgs soyabin oil,400 kgs pulse and 500 kgs grams were sanctioned for sell per day each fixed TCB shop. License of dealers will be cancelled and a dealer may face legal action in case of practicing any irregularity, TCB official warned saying people would feel interest in buying TCB’s commodities for their qualities and low price.
The government has already deputed a total of 456 dealers to sell the commodities in 14 districts. The districts are Jashore, Narail, Jhenidah, Magura, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Rajbari, and Pirojpur.
At least five trucks will sell at 15 points through the dealers in Khulna city while two trucks will sell commodities in every district under the programs.
