There may have so many reasons of losing a match, those might be on the field or off the field.
But if it happens the defeat caused by any unusual issue of off the field that is a great blunder and the team management can never avoid the responsibility.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s defeat to India in the ‘Super Eight’ phase was one of the reasons of missing the team’s pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed.
Taskin Ahmed being the vice-captain and the strike bowler of the Bangladesh T20 cricket team missed the important encounter of ‘Super Eight’ stage, as he could not get up from the bed and missed the team bus.
Bangladesh had to play with two pacers against the team like India in absence of the team’s vice-captain Taskin when India used three pacers.
On the day, out of five wickets, medium fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up two wickets for Bangladesh against India.
The absence of Taskin in the vital match was a big surprise but that time there were no discussion about the missing of the number one pace bowler.
Finally, it was known why Taskin could play the match when a BCB official on condition of unanimity told a reporter that the vice-captain of the team missed the team bus, as he could not play match against India.
The BCB official said, Taskin could not get up from his sleep on time and missed the stadium bound team bus and reached the ground just to join in the national anthem.
The BCB official informed, team officials, captain and even coach Chandika Hathurusingh also called Taskin but did not get any response, finally one of the officials of the touring party was kept in the team hotel after they failed to make contact with the pacer as he (Taskin) was not picking up the phone. Coach Chandika Hathurusingha was annoyed with the Taskin’s irresponsibility and decided not to pick him in the XI.
It was also known that Taskin Ahmed later on apologised to his teammates for reaching late in the field after missing the team bus during the ‘Super Eight’ game against India on June 22 in the ICC T20 World Cup.
