Tamim Iqbal played last match for the national team in September last year. Since then, for last more than a year the star cricketer has not been seen in the red-green jersey.
But recently he started to practice seriously again. There are speculations, that the former captain and the dashing opener will be back on the field with the national team soon.
Tamim said, “Actually, media published the news, very often they do, ‘I am returning with the national team also a news made by the media. Have I ever said that I am returning or not to the team?”
"The media and the social media, the people who make contents on YouTube are making a drama out of it, as if I am having fun with the board. They make up the story according to their own, and that hampers my reputation. Where I am not making any comment,” said Tamim.
Requesting everyone Tamim said not to give attention to the rumors, he said, “I request everyone, do not believe anything about me until any statement from me. Another thing, if I want to return to the national team, the board-selectors will decide whether they would need, but that would be then it will my personal decision whether I want to return or not,” he added.
“What is going for last three-four months in social media about my returning in the national team, you wpuld have any comments from me, so you can understand, all those are making are simpy gossip,” Tami added.
About the query, have his any decision to return to the team or not – “Tamim said, “No discussion I have taken yet, and did not share anything about this with anyone, I never talked to anyone. Now I am concentrating on my practice focusing on preparing myself for the upcoming BPL. Apart from that, there is nothing else at the moment.”
Tamim said, “I did not utter a word that I am preparing for the national team, or getting ready for the West Indies tour. It’s clear and there is nothing to be confused.
