A colourful three-day programme was started at Pithabhogue village under Rupsha upazila in Khulna on Wednesday to celebrate the 163rd birth anniversary of Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore in a befitting manner.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner M Helal Mahmud Sharif inaugurated the programme. Rupsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kohinur Jahan and Rupsha police station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Md Imdad were present at programme. Ghatbhog Union Parishad (UP) Chairman presided over the programme.
On the 25th Baishakh in 1268 Bengali calendar, Rabindranath, the fountainhead of Bengali wisdom, was born at Jorasanko in Kolkata.
