Lawmaker of Jhenaidah 2 seat Tahjib Alam Siddiquee Somi distributed computer tabs, the gift from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina among 96 learners on Saturday. The tabs were distributed at a simple ceremony at Jhenaidah Sadar upazila parishad auditorium jointly organized by Jhenaidah Sadar upazila parishad and upazila statistical office.
Presided over by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Sadiya Jarin, the lawmaker attended as chief guest. Upazila parishad chairman Abdur Rashid Advocate, assistant commissioner (land) Sharmin Akter Sumi, upazila agriculture officer Nur E Nabi, officer in charge of Jhenaidah Sadar police station Sheikh Mohammad Sohel Rana, secondary education officer Sheikh Qamruzzaman, upazila project implementation officer (PIO) Neuton Bayeen and Juba league Jhenaidah Sadar upazila unit convener Shah Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil Raja attended as special guests.
96 students of class nine and ten of 10 educational institutions were provided with the tabs as the gift from the Prime Minster, while another 516 students of 85 educational institutions will have the same within 15 days. The same were used in statistical purposes earlier.
In his speech as chief guest, the lawmaker said the Prime Minister desires to see the students as good and smart citizens who will lead the country for a challenging world throughout the globe utilizing the existing facilities of the government.
