Tabith Awal submitted nomination paper to contest for the post of president in the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) election. His brother Tajwar Awal, president of Arambagh Krira Sangha submitted the nomination paper on behalf of Tabith on Tuesday.
Tabith, who is also the president of Feni based Nofel Sporting Club, earlier hinted that would not present himself to submit the nomination papers, as his nomination was submitted by his brother.
Tabith Awal, former football player and two times vice-president of the BFF said, “After losing in the 2020 election and failed to be the vice-president for third time, I did not came at BFF. If I were elected this time, I will enter the BFF Bhaban as it’s president.”
Immediately after submission of Tabith’s nomination, Nasser Shahriar Zahedi submitted his nomination paper for the post of vice-president. Nasser Shahriar Zahedi is the founding president of Jashore Shamsul Huda Football Academy.
Zahedi, after submitting the nomination, said, “I am participating in the BFF election for the first time. Hopefully, the councilors will elect me to give the opportunity to work for the development of country’s football.”
