T-Aman to be cultivated on 53,950 hectares in Chapainawabganj

Transplanted Aman (T-Aman) would be cultivated on 53,950 hectares of land in Chapainawabganj district this year.

At the rainfall during the last few days farmers have started preparing their lands for planting seedlings.

According to the Chapainawabganj district office of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), a target has been taken up to cultivate T-Aman on 10,380 hectares of land in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, 600 hectares in Shibganj upazila, 15,520 hectares in Gomostapur upazila, 22,400 hectares in Nachole upazila and 5,050 hectares in Bholahat upazila.

The production target has also been fixed up at 1,91,661 metric tonnes of rice in the district.

Of them, 37,211 metric tonnes would be produced in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, 2,160 metric tonnes in Shibganj upazila, 53,306 metric tonnes in Gomostapur upazila, 80,665 metric tonnes in Nachole upazila and 18,319 metric tonnes in Bholahat upazila, DAE sources added.
