Symposium on crime prevention drive held in Cox’s Bazar

A symposium on crime prevention drive was held at the initiative of 5 No Beat Policing unit of Choufaldandi Union Parishad at a ground adjacent to Chaufaldandi Bazar in Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila with the slogan "Beat policing in every house, let’s build a safe society" on Monday. 

Cox's Bazar Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge, Sheikh Munir Ul Gias chaired the symposium. 

Superintendent of Cox's Bazar Police, Md Hasanuzzaman, who was present as the chief guest at the discussion, said that beat policing is an effective and tested measure to provide police services to the people at the earliest to curb crime. 

Beat police officers and personnel will be deployed in designated areas as well as crime-prone areas. They will collect information about the  source of the crime and arrest the culprit. The officers will stand by people in times of trouble and provide them with legal assistance. 

The police super assured that no innocent people would be harassed. He warned that no matter how deep the roots of drug traffickers are, will be uprooted. He called on the people to cooperate with the police by providing information on crime in the area.

President of Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila Community Police, UP Chairman and members, teachers of schools and madrasahs, imams of mosques, local people's representatives, political leaders, freedom fighters, journalists and people from all walks of life were present at the meeting.
