After a long hiatus, an exhibition of the acclaimed production 'Chitrangada' by Natyasangathan Swapnadal is going to be held on Friday. On the same day at 7 pm, the play will be staged at the Studio Theater Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Zahid Ripon has directed the laboratory drama style of Rabindranath Tagore's classic creation 'Chitrangada'. The exhibition will be held in compliance with the proper hygiene rules of neo-normality. Swapnadal's 'Chitrangada' production is based on a poetic manuscript.
In its drama, it is presented that Mahavira Arjuna came to the Manipur forest after observing the Brahmacharyabrata for a period of time. Manipur-princess Chitrangada, overwhelmed with love for Ajurna, but Ajurna rejects the formless Chitrangada. The humiliated Chitrangada was transformed into a beautiful beauty for a year with the help of Madan, the god of love, and Basanta, the god of youth. This time Arjun fell in love with Chitrangada as usual. But even after gaining Azurna, Chitrangada's heart began to be wounded in the conflict.
Whom does Arjun really love, the appearance of Chitrangada or his real existence? In this way, behind the mythology of 'Chitrangada', it is as if the psycho-physical relationship between men and women of this period is strained and at the same time it is presented as an inspiration of mutual respect. Sonali, Juena, Shishir, Shyamal, Ork, Happy, Sumaiya, Samad, Anchal, Usha, Samrat, Ali, Bipul, Mamun, Anindya, Masud and others will act in 'Chitrangada'.
