Prof. Dr. Mazharul Hasan Majumdar, the Dean of the School of Management and Business Administration at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), has not resigned despite student demands.
The Business Administration Department students issued an ultimatum for his resignation, citing various irregularities and his lack of support for the anti-discrimination student movement.
On August 16, students publicly demanded Majumdar's resignation. In response, he acknowledged their concerns in a written statement on August 20. He noted two primary issues: not supporting the anti-discrimination movement and failing to ensure student safety.
The students have raised serious allegations against Majumdar, including misconduct and disrespect towards female students. The situation remains tense as students demand accountability while Majumdar navigates the university's administrative challenges.
