The 12th National Parliament's Standing Committee on the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has recommended that the strategic goals of decentralizing primary education management be put into practice.
The committee also suggested that the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education guarantee high-quality primary education, expand and guarantee non-formal education, and promote universal, integrated, and non-discriminatory primary education.
These suggestions were presented at the Parliament building on Sunday during the inaugural meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Aftab Uddin Sarker, the committee chairman, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali, and other committee members reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to cooperating to advance the primary education system during the meeting.
In addition to the president and state minister, committee members Ahmed Feroz Kabir, Md. Abul Kalam, SM Shahzada, HM Badiuzzaman, Nilufar Anjum, and Golam Sarwar Tuku participated in the meeting. It is known that in the meeting, State Minister Rumana Ali greeted the newly elected committee president with a bouquet of flowers. After the introduction of the present members, the committee was informed about the activities of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
At the beginning of the meeting, on the night of August 15, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, family members of the martyrs, three million martyrs of the Liberation War, 200,000 mothers and sisters who lost their dignity, four national leaders, and all the martyrs in the language movement wished for forgiveness and deeply remembered their memory. Tributes and prayers are offered.
In the meeting, everyone concerned was requested to speed up the work of the Standing Committee by maintaining the close relationship of the Ministry with the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat for the successful implementation of the priorities of the Election Manifesto, Eighth Five-Year Plan, Sustainable Development Goals, and Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed, heads of various departments and
organizations, along with senior secretaries of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat, and related officials, were present in the meeting.
