Sufficient relief will be provided

State minister tells flood-affected people

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman visits flood-ridden areas of Moulvibazar District on Wednesday. At that time he distributes relief goods among the flood affected people.

“As much needed, relief goods will be provided, he said adding that already 650 MT rice, Tk 4 lakh cash and 6,000 packets of dry food nave been distributed among the flood affected people.”

He further said with the instruction of the Prime Minister, relief distribution will carried out allocating more 200 MT rice for relief. Every flood victim family will get 15 kg of rice at the upcoming Eid, he added. 

On Wednesday afternoon, during the distribution of relief to the flood-affected people at Bimala Charan Multipurpose High School premises of Uttarbhag union of Rajnagar, he utterd the speech as chief guest.  

Deputy Minister for Water Resources, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, said that we can remove Manga from the northen part of Bangla with the charismatic leadership of Banagbandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Insha Allah we can also overcome the flood in the country. He also said that already Tk 2000cr was allocated for constructing an embankment ranging about 85 kms beside Manu river in Sylhet. 

Project worth Tk 496 crore has been taken for the repair of the embankment of Kushiyara river to protect the locality from frequent flood.

It was attended by among others, Moulvibazar Zilla Parishad Chairman, Freedom Fighter Azizur Rahman, Sayeda Johra Alauddin, Mp, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Shah Kamal, Director General of Disaster Management Department Abu Sayeed Mohammad Hakim, District Awami League General Mizbahur Rahman, Joint Secretary Kamal Hossain and many others.

At that time they the Ministers visited the embankment of Manu river and Kushiyara river of Rajnagar.
