Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has urged the students to be educated in practical learning and not learn textbooks for certificate.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized at the Shaheed Smriti College auditorium in Nesharabad, Pirojpur on Friday (May 20) to thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Minister for Fisheries and Livestock for the final approval of Bangabandhu University of Science and Technology, Pirojpur.
At that time, he said, the only real education is not the acquisition of textbook education or certificate. Students need to have the most ethics and values. The more ideal and moral character the students have, the more their life will develop. The more values they hold, the brighter their future will be.
He further said that many educated people who have passed BA and MA in the society are becoming addicted to drugs and committing immoral activities. They are an asset, not an asset to society. For this the students have to be educated in standard education. So that they can lead the country in the future.
The minister also called upon the teachers to teach the students in the educational institutions to be people of ideal character and ideal mentality and to believe in the spirit of liberation war.
The minister further added that the more educated the girls are, the more the country will move forward, the more developed the country will be.
“Many of these talents can be developed. At present the Leader of Parliament Sheikh Hasina is a woman, the Speaker of Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury is a woman. The country's education minister is a woman, the leader of the opposition is a woman. Sheikh Hasina is the head of a women friendly government. She continues to work for the empowerment of women,” he said.
Nesharabad Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Nesharabad Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Riaz Hossain, Pirojpur District Juba League President Akhtaruzzaman Fulu, Nesharabad Upazila Awami League President Abdul Hamid, General Secretary SM Fuad, teachers and board members of Shaheed Smriti College, local union council chairmen and local leaders of Awami League and its affiliates were present on the occasion.
