A daylong Seminar on `Role of students, Media workers (Journalists) and Elite of society for Prevention of Extremism’ was held at police lines auditorium in Chuadanga town on Thursday. The seminar was arranged by the Chuadanga District Police. It was assisted by the Project of Construction of Counter Terrorism & Transnational Crime Protection Center of Bangladesh police.
A key note paper on Extremism, Violent of Extremism, Radicalization, Indicators of involvement in extremism and role of the participants was presented by Sheikh Imran Hossain, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime of Dhaka Metropolitan Police through multimedia.
The seminar was presided over by Abu Tareq, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance) while Abdullah Al Mamun, Superintendent of Police was present as chief guest. Dr AKM Saifur Rashid, Principal of Chuadanga Government College, Azizur Rahman, Principal of Chuadanga Government Mohila College, Anisuzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sarder Al Amin, President of Chuadanga Press Club and Manik Akbar, President of Chuadanga District Press Club addressed as special guests.
Students, journalists and teachers of educational institutes have assured at the seminar to take participate in their respective fields for prevention of terrorism and terrorists in the district.
It may be mentioned here, separately seminars were arranged with chairmen and members of Union Parishads, imams of mosques and personnel of police and jail gourds on April 11 and 12.
