Meritorious students in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila got bicycles on Sunday. These cycles were distributed under LGSP-3 project by Thakurgaon Sadar upazila administration to prevent child marriage and create a health conscious environment.
Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila chairman Advocate Arunagsha Datta Tito distributed the bicycles among female students of Dholarhar union. Dholarhat UP chairman Shimanta Kumer Barman chaired the program.
Awami League president Ajit Kumar Ray for Dholarhat, General Secretary Lutfar Rahman, teachers, students and gurdians of the area were present at the program.
Speakers after the bicycle distribution spoke about the negative effects of child marriage on society. The also urged everyone to maintain social distance and follow safety guides to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
It is to be mentioned that LGSP funded the bicycle distribution project.
