A group of students found Taka 18 lakh abandoned on the street and then handed over the money to a police station in Rajshahi city on Sunday.
Around 11:30 am, the students found a bag containing the cash money in an alley in Badra area.
Subsequently, they took the bag containing 18 bundles of Tk 1000 notes to Boalia Police Station and handed it over to the police.
Masud Parvej, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station, received the money.
Executive Magistrate Shamsul Alam and Warrant Officer of Bangladesh Army were present at that time.
OC Masud Parvej said the money would be submitted to the government exchequer after taking permission from the court.
