‘Student-people uprising ousted Hasina govt, brought independence’

BNP National Executive Committee Vice Chairman and former lawmaker Alhaj Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury said that Hasina's autocratic government has kept the people of the country hostage for the past 15 years. 

“The 15-year reign of the game ended in 45 minutes. Hasina fled the country and took shelter in India. After the overthrow of this autocrat, the country became independent in the student revolution,” he said.

He also said that former MP Fazle Karim Junu killed many leaders of BNP in Raozan. BNP leader Hashem was killed. Upazila Chairman Ghi Babul was MP's favourite chairman. Now peace has returned to Raozan. “I want people of all religions to live safely. Anyone who disturbs will not be exempted.”

On the occasion of his arrival in Haldia Union of Raozan Upazila after 16 years on Friday afternoon, he said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the grand reception organised by Union BNP at Amirhat Bazar.

Raozan Upazila BNP Joint Convenor Musleh Uddin presided over and Raozan Upazila BNP Convener Committee member Mohiuddin Zibon moderated the meeting.  The special guests were Raozan Upazila BNP Convener Nurul Huda Chairman, Joint Convener Firoz Ahmad, Municipality BNP Joint Convener SM Yusuf, Joint Convener Former councillor Rezaul Rahim Azam, Raozan Upazila BNP convening committee member Abul Kashem, Raozan Upazila BNP leader Syed Kamal Uddin, Harunur Rashid Babul, Azizul Haque, Rafiqul Islam, District Jubo Dal vice-president Chhaber Sultan Kajal, District Swechchasebak Dal Joint Convener Nurul Islam Babul, Assistant general secretary of district Jubo Dal Masudul Alam and senior joint convener of upazila Jubo Dal Jane Alam, among others, were present.

Earlier he addressed a rally at Dabua Jagannath Hat Bazaar.
