A girl student in Chuadanga Sadar upazila has managed to avoid marriage and instead of sitting at the marriage stage, she got the assurance receiving education for her upcoming year. This fascinating event took place on Saturday morning in the district.
Chuadanga Sadar Police officials said that the preparation of this minor girl’s marriage was almost complete and the girl’s family was waiting for the groom to come to their house. After receiving such news, police personnel rushed to the place. Sensing the presence of law
enforcement agencies, no people from the groom’s side including the groom himself did not show up at the scene.
Ordering to halt the marriage ceremony, police later advised the parents of the girl le let her continue her academic carrier, Chuadanga Sadar OC Mohammad Mohsin said.

OC Mohammad Mohsin said that a human rights worker named advocate Mani Khandakar informed that a child marriage is taking place in the upazila. With the local representative and upazila officials, Chuadanga Sadar Police raided the scene and managed to stop the wedding.
After advising the parents to let the girl go to school again, the parents said that due to the financial instability, they were unable to bear her academic expenses.
Upon hearing that, Chuadanga Sadar Police took the responsibility of that girl’s academic expenses. OC Mohammad Mohsin then paid the fees for the next two years of the academic expenses of that girl.
‘Her family wanted to ship the girl to the groom’s house. We helped the girl to start a new life by letting her to go to the school again, OC Mohsin added.
Simanta High School Headmistress Mosammat mehjabin, local UP members and others were also present at the scene.
