According to the allegations, Abir Mridha, a student at Dasar Upazila of Madaripur's Paschim Maijpara Adarsha Orphanage and Hafezia Madrasa, was severely beaten. This event took place on Sunday this week. In connection with this incident, the police on Monday afternoon detained Muktaruzzaman, the accused teacher.
It is known that Abir Mridha intervened to break up a fight between two young students in that madrasa on Sunday morning. He was unable to stop at one point. After a while, the madrasa's senior instructor, Maulana Muktaruzzaman, showed up and began striking Abir with a cane before he could speak. Abir passed out during one of the beatings. He was later admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital by his relatives. Abir is receiving treatment there right now.
The injured student's father, Jamal Mridha, stated, "My son was brutally beaten and suffered cuts to multiple body parts. That is beyond the capabilities of a teacher. It was done by a human being. A civilized society would never subject a child to such treatment. I require a rigorous trial for him.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Dasar Police Station, SM Shafiqul Islam, announced that the accused has been brought before the court after a case was filed on the family's behalf.
