Jhenaidah district administration had imposed strict lockdown throughout the district since Tuesday evening for nine days when the infestation could not be controlled. 30 fresh cases of corona infestation was recorded while the number of death was one in last 24 hours. The rate of infestation was 47.61, district health office sources said.
Civil surgeon in Jhenaidah Dr. Salina Begum said they sent the sample for 63 persons to the testing laboratory. Of them 30 were tested positive. The number of total death due to corona virus toll to 71, she said.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mozibor Rahman when contacted said a meeting of corona prevention committee was held at about 11 pm at his conference room on Monday. The meeting decided to impose strict lockdown throughout the district till June 30 midnight.
All the business establishments, market, shopping mall, hotel and restaurants will shut, while medicine shops remain open. The people were advised to stay at home safe and move with face mask and maintain health guidelines for any emergency activities, DC said. Police set up a number of check posts in the town to control the situation.
