Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman (Additional Duties) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir said that quality standards should be ensured in higher education in universities. Attention should be given to research and innovation. Industry-academia collaboration should be strengthened. Therefore, long-term strategic planning of the universities will be adopted. Every university in our country has its own potential. Maybe we have resource limitations. But we have to create a mentality to move forward by ensuring the maximum use of those limited resources. A university is a field where a student can nurture his thoughts and bring them to fruition.
CUET said these things in a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of 21st University Day-2023 at the central auditorium of the university on Sunday morning in the chief guest's speech.

I wish everyone Happy University Day.
Dainim Azadi Editor MA Malek said, "The policy of the media is to just work. We don't sit around hoping for recognition. Dainik Azadi has historically played a role in the development and progress of Chittagong. My father late Abdul Khalek, founder editor of Azadi, was the first Muslim engineer in Bangladesh. Dainim Azadi played a leading role in the movement-struggle for the conversion of BIT to CUET out of a sense of responsibility towards the engineers. CUET is a fertile land of genius. So we rejoice in any achievement of CUET. We expect CUET to play a stronger role in the development and planning of Chittagong.
After the discussion meeting, blood donation program, friendly football match and prize distribution were held at CUET Medical Center.
Before this, the program started by hoisting the national flag and the university flag from the front of the administrative building-2 of the university. The day-long program was inaugurated with the release of balloons and peace doves and a joyous rally.
Teachers, officials, staff and students of the university participated in the rally by playing colourful flutes-vuvuzelas and drums and a commemorative tree was planted.
