‘Stop violence against women, children’

Dhaka district police have taken an exceptional initiative to create awareness over mass people in Dhaka district to prevent woman and children violence. Police started these activities since March 10, and it was continued till Tuesday.  

Police delivering massage to locals that, how they should prevent woman and children violence and what they have to do if they face such situation or problem through courtyard meeting along with local public representatives, teachers, local considerable persons and others.

Md Maruf Hossen Sarder, Superintendent of Dhaka district police (SP), told The Bangladesh Post, “Earlier, we conducted this awareness activity in whole Dhaka district and we got very positive feedback from mass people as well as friendly relation between mass people and police being formed through these activities.”

“We conducted these activities again in 13 beat area in Dhaka district as we get positive feedback from mass people earlier and it has started on last March 10 but we stop this activity on March 17 as coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. However, this awareness campaign will be continued through sound speaker, sticker, and placard except mass gathering to prevent coronavirus infection”, SP added.

Salahuddin Khan Noim, General Secretary of Corruption prevention committee told The Bangladesh Post, “It’s really a great initiative of Dhaka district police and we welcomed it as we know that woman and children violence issues increasing day after day in our country. I think, the woman and children violence issues and other crime will reduce in our society if everyone protests from their self position.”

Md. Safayedur Rahman, Sub inspector of Savar model police station and in-charge of 9 no bit said, “We conducted these awareness activities by the directive of Dhaka district SP and we hope awareness over woman and children violence will grow among mass people through this campaign, and violence issues will reduced gradually in our society.”
