After witnessing a downward trend in the last session, stocks on Thursday rebounded in the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.
However, daily trade turnover plunged to Tk 10,434.57 million on the country's premier bourse which was Taka 11,523.94 million at the previous session of the week.
After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 32.60 points or 0.47 per cent to settle at 6,984.74.
Two other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rose 11.15 points to finish at 2,632.19 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 839 points to close at 1,475.46.
Gainers took a strong lead over the losers, as out of 377 issues traded, 214 advanced, 106 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor. Beximco dominated the turnover chart, closely followed by GSP Finance, GENEXIL, Delta Life and BATBC. SKTRIMS was the day's top gainer, rising 9.83 per cent, while Shurwid was the worst loser, shedding 5.58 per cent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rebounded with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -gaining 102.78 points to settle at 20,462.18 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX rising 61.23 points to close at 12,294.61.
Of the issues traded, 92 declined, 160 advanced and 34 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city's bourse traded 1.77 crore shares and mutual fund units with turnover value of Tk 39.49 crore.
