The national-level STEAM Olympiad for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) concluded on Saturday. The event encouraged young people to innovate and create new ideas.
The Ministry of Education and iTesseract Technologies organized the program at the National Museum in the capital city. Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dipu Moni attended the closing ceremony online. Special guests included Jatiya Sangsad Whip Sanjida Khanam and Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. ASM Masud Kamal. Prof. Sazzad Hossain, the chief advisor of the event, led the closing ceremony.
Important guests like BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Satya Prasad Majumder, Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood, ICT Division Secretary Shamsul Arefin, BASIS President Russell T Ahmed, ADN Group Chairman Asif Mahmood, ICT Department Director General Mustafa Kamal, and Prime Bank Managing Director Hassan Rashid were also present.
BUET Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Abdul Jabbar Khan, Prof. Lafifa Jamal from Dhaka University, and eGeneration Chairman Shameem Ahsan shared valuable insights with the students.
Students from primary school to university level from different districts took part in the finals. They showcased their innovative skills in eight different groups. The organizers said the National STEAM Olympiad helps explore the talents of young people. It aims to create a smart Bangladesh and a skilled workforce ready for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The event saw participation from 57,976 students across 310 schools, 61 universities, 132 colleges, 22 polytechnic institutes, and 25 madrasahs.
The Olympiad encourages students to prepare for future challenges by developing various skills.
