The government is taking all-out preparation to conduct Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in due time, scheduled to be held in November and December accordingly.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made the remarks while attending the Bangabandhu-Bapu Digital Exhibition at Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Saturday.
“I hope SSC and HSC examinations will be held on time. We are setting dates in November and December. SSC examinations will be held in mid-November and HSC examinations in late December,” she reiterated after making the same statement earlier at different events.
Regarding keeping the educational institutions open amid coronavirus pandemic, Dipu Moni said, “We have not come to a point where we’ll close schools and colleges. Everyone in the schools, where infections have been reported, has been tested. The administration is monitoring the situation.”
“If there is any report or possibility of rise in Covid cases in any educational institution then those will be closed,” she added.
Meanwhile, on the pre-primary students, the minister said, "We do not want to bring pre-primary children to schools at the moment. Let them stay at home for now. Let three weeks pass and we will decide again.”
Schools and colleges in the country reopened from September 12 after 18 months of closure since March 17, last year due to Corona virus pandemic. No public examination has been held in the meantime. Therefore, this years’ SSC and HSC examinations are told to be one of the massive comebacks of educational activities in the country.
However, universities in the country are supposed to be reopened in October, next month.
