SSC exams under new curriculum to be held in December

In light of the new curriculum, the SSC and equivalent exams will be held in the month of December, starting in the academic year 2026. Sources in the Ministry of Education revealed this information on. Exams will be conducted on the basis of class 10 textbooks and 65% weightage in written assessment, 35% in activity-based assessment.

The SSC and equivalent exams will be conducted only on the basis of class 10 textbooks in the new curriculum. There will be 5-hour-long final tests for each subject. The examination will have 65% weightage in the written assessment and 35% in the activity-based assessment. The exam procedures will be finalised by 31 May. However, the final decision has not yet been made about whether the name of the exam will be SSC or some other name, education ministry sources said.

According to the information given by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, the high-level committee on the new curriculum has finalised the evaluation system for the new curriculum. The Ministry of Education has called a meeting to finalise everything and complete the process within this month.
