A total of 17,192 students were absent on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations on Sunday.
According to the secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education, A total of 4 students were expelled on the first day.
The number of absentees was 4222 in Dhaka Board, 1720 in Rajshahi, 2628 in Cumilla, 1834 in Jashore, 1607 in Chattogram, 940 in Sylhet, 1026 in Barishal, 2247 in Dinajpur, 978 in Mymensingh.
This year, a total of 20,72,163 students registered for the examinations.
