Under the Annual Sports Programme-2023-2024 of the Department of Sports, a sports and entertainment festival and prize distribution ceremony of children with autistic and special needs was held in Munshiganj Sadar Upazila.
The District Sports Office organised the festival at Munshiganj district stadium on Monday. Various games were completed with the participation of the students of Palak Autism School. Later in the evening, prizes were distributed among the autistic students. The event was supported by East West Club, Swapnonel Sports Academy and MSP Express.
DCMd Abu Zafar Ripon BPAA was present as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Aslam Khan, Munshiganj Municipal Mayor Haji Mohammad Faisal Biplab were present as special guests under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Masud Alam.
Munshiganj District Sports Officer Khadija Parveen moderated the programme. Officials of Munshiganj District Sports Association, teachers, students, parents and journalists of Palak Autism School were also present.
In the speech of the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Md Abu Zafar Ripon said that autistic children are being worked on internationally. Prime Minister's daughter Saima Wazed is working with the disabled. If these children are given a little sympathy, they will be able to walk normally like others. These children are encouraged to do well under the overall supervision of the teachers of Palak Autism School.
