The 44th central annual sports competition of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was held on Wednesday at the central playground of the university. Marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, this year the competition is titled as " Mujib Year 2020: Central Annual Sports Competition".
JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the competition as the chief guest in that morning. Golam Rabbi and Sharmin Akter Supta became the fastest man and fastest woman respectively in the competition.
In the men’s category of the competition, Golam Rabbi and Mahfujul Hoque jointly became champion while Kazi Bijoy became runner-up. In women's section Sharmin Akter Supta and Laboni Sinha became champion and runner-up respectively. After the competition, Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam distributed prizes among the winners as chief guest.
Presided over by the convener of the Competition Management Committee, Prof Bashir Ahmed, Pro VC (Administration) Prof Amir Hossain, Pro VC (Education) Prof Md Nurul Alam and treasurer Sheikh Md Manzurul Huq were present in the competition, among others.
