The Youth and Sports Advisor, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, has promptly initiated a meeting with sports journalists just weeks into his tenure. The meeting is scheduled for Monday. This meeting aims to discuss the ongoing reforms and overall development in the sports sector.
The National Sports Council has called for a meeting with sports journalists to discuss these reforms and the overall development of the sports sector. The meeting, chaired by Asif Mahmud, will take place on the morning of September 2nd at the National Sports Council. Sports editors, deputy sports editors, and sports in-charges from print and electronic media have been requested to attend.
On Thursday, a notice signed by the Secretary of the National Sports Council, Aminul Islam, has been sent to the Bangladesh Sports Writers Association, Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association, as well as various media outlets.
Despite the previous minister, Nazmul Hasan Papon, meeting with many federations in the last six months, he never held a formal discussion with journalists about sports development. Papon predecessor Zahid Ahsan Russell organized such an event only once during his five-year tenure.
