Special grants bring joy to students, teachers

The Ministry of Education announced the final list of beneficiaries for a special grant programme encompassing 10,246 student-teachers and 240 educational institutions across the country on Thursday.

These grants, totaling substantial sums, will be disbursed directly to recipients via the mobile banking system facilitated by the Bangladesh Postal Department.

Among the recipients are 400 teachers and employees, 9,846 students, and 240 schools and colleges nominated by the Ministry's Secondary and Higher Education Department.

The grants will support various educational needs, with 6,300 students in classes 6 to 10 receiving Tk 8,000 each, 1,866 students in classes 11 and 12 receiving Tk 9,000 each, and 1,680 students in higher education receiving Tk 10,000 each.

Additionally, each of the 240 educational institutions will receive Tk 1 lakh, and a total of Tk 2,40,00,000 has been allocated to them collectively. Furthermore, 400 teachers and employees will benefit from individual grants of Tk 30,000 each, amounting to a total of Tk 1,20,00,000.

The Secondary and Higher Education Department emphasised that the disbursement will be handled securely through Bangladesh Post Department's digital banking system, ensuring efficient and transparent delivery of funds to the intended recipients.
