SP visits puja mandaps in Pirojpur

Khan Muhammad Abu Nasser, Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district, visited various puja mandaps in the district town on Saturday.

He visited the mandaps located at Angrabari, Kalibari, Rajarhat and Palpara areas in the town on Saturday afternoon.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Mostafizur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Mukit Hasan Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Abdus Sobahan, District Puja Celebration Council General Secretary Dola Guha, among others, were present.

The SP told the journalists that maximum security measures have been taken by the district police for holding the Durga Puja in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

Additional law enforcement personnel have been deployed in high-risk areas and maximum security measures have been taken for this year's Puja.

Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu community, will be celebrated at 458 mandaps in all seven upazilas of the district this year.
